A week at the Wood

Another fulfilling week came and went at Shelterwood.  As I sit here at the computer on a Saturday morning, the sun is out but I can hear the wind blowing the backyard wind chimes.  More cool weather is coming.  Last Saturday was a "dump" of snow followed by progressive warm weather until almost 70 on Thursday.  It was great.  I even wore shorts to work.  Had a chance to play some basketball with the Shelterwood boys and I didn't even have to wear a long sleeve T.  Amazing.   Spring Break started yesterday afternoon.  Over the weekend most of the kids will make their way home to spend time with parents.  Some will stay back and experience local visits with folks and others will just stay back.  All part of the SW experience.  We had an amazing time at chapel on Thursday.   We had a special guest speaker, Joey, who shared an incredible personal testimony.  Joey is a local believer who spent time working on the Doulos construction project.  I am always amazed at how diverse the Kingdom is.  So may people, so many stories, so many angles, but one God.  Pretty cool. During chapel a few of the girls shared a special song inspired by the recent mission trip to Mexican-Americans in El Paso.  We watched some cool video from last week's community service and El Paso and shared stories.
